Q: Corry sent in this question: "I would like to make some shaker cards, but I'm not sure what mounting tape is. Does it have some special feature that double sided sticky tape doesn't? What else can you substitute if you don't have mounting tape?"
A: Mounting tape is 3-D foam tape. You can buy it in different widths. For shaker cards, you need to raise your frame a little from the card so that whatever you add to the shaker element has room to move. If you purchase unmounted, untrimmed stamps, you can even use the rubber that's left after you trim your stamps. Cut the rubber in thin strips, then peel off the rubber to expose the sticky side of the foam. Adhere around your frame opening, then peel off the paper to adhere to card.
