Ask Beate
Beate Johns answers your technique questions
Q: Joan asked: "Recently, I purchased some unmounted stamps. Now I am wondering the best way to mount them. Do you have any suggestions? Wood blocks, mounting temporarily on acrylic blocks, or some other method?"
A: When rubber stamps come mounted on smart cling cushion (rubber with foam that has a shiny side that will cling to your blocks), just stick them on an acrylic block. Rubber only stamps can be adhered to a block with double-sided tape or Aleen's Tack-It Over and Over. Once you have the stamps prepared, you can use them like you would use a wood-mounted stamp. Just ink, stamp, clean and store like you do with your other stamps. For a great discussion about using unmounted stamps, check this thread.

Feedback From Past Tutorials
Laura has a suggestion for the Frosted Filter technique: "I use liquid watercolor paints and coffee filters to make tie-dye creations with children. Just fold the coffee filter up until you get a triangle shape and then apply the paint. Let is soak through. Open it up and you have an awesome design."
